Collection: Worm salt
The Mojojoy worm is known as well as Chiza and is the larva of a beetle found in almost every plantation in the Colombian Amazon. It's collected for local consumption in different traditional dishes and is considered gourmet food. Its oils are used in indigenous medicine to heal a sore throat and can be seen overall as the characteristic ingredient for Colombo-Amazonian cuisine.
Our Mojojoy worm salt is prepared of sea salt from Galerazamba and a house mix of selected chilis which are artisanally dehydrated and toasted by us - the best worms are picked one by one and fire-roasted and dried - later all the ingredients are ground together to combine this unique natural flavors.
